I couldn't agree with you more WG and this is why the protocols were put in place for such an event as this ever occurring.

http://www.aita.co.uk/?p=1122

You'd think it would be dealt with. It may well be but no statement has been released yet so a twitter post is not enough to warrant an industry wide shut down when the poster is short of supplying information to et peoples attention apart from one person being infected and taking month out to cite isolation and containment.

That is confusing in itself because if its isolated and contained why should the business shut down???

Previous incidents had people of more standing in the UK production community to instigate a shut down and it was always based on perosnal understanding of the facts.

What makes it even awkward is the performer behind those tweets thinks he can shut the industry down without producers co operating...I'm gonna call him Spartacus....

"I'm Spartacus!"

"I'm Spartacus too"

"No, theyre not...I'm Spartacus!"

"Spartacus will be crucified!!!"

"Fuck this for a game of soldiers, you're on you own Spartacus mate!"

Didn't you know? posting it on twitter means EVERYONE knows about it and it'll shut down the industry for a month?

I dont shoot b/g but I am disgusted at how these two models have conducted themselves so unprofessionally.
The female involved in spreading the Syphilis news told a model who questioned her that she 'deserved' to catch it if she didn't stop working.
The male involved has slagged off both AITA and UKAP saying that 'But AITA ain't our governing body' and it wasn't worth telling them?

I'm sorry but if you want the whole industry shut down for a month then posting it on twitter they way they have gone about it certainly won't work.

Okay i Dont often Use this Site but feel i should clear this post up, as many of you seem to have take my tweet the wrong way!!!

To Confirm I Do Not have Syphilis...

I am not trying to scaremonger, cause panic or distress anyone!! There is 100% a confirmed case of syphilis in the UK, the Individual acted correctly and informed Everyone they had worked with!!!! However... This is NOT my Place to Name the individual nor my place to discuss who the concerned people are, if people wish to become known or go public then im sure they will!!

My only concern is for the safety of my fellow co workers and the industry itself, this problem is worldwide at the moment! Budapest, Prague, LA & England... we however dont have effective systems in place like Buda or LA for when this happens...

Due to incubation periods the results can be delayed in showing up on your tests, this is why if people stop working and keep retesting then hopefully we can remove the virus from our industry...

People i am not trying to withhold information but its not my place to start naming names, after all that is up to the individual themselves!!!!!

I Hope everyone is safe and protects themselves!!!

Once again the gossip machine has gone in to overdrive, maybe this will make the performers sit up and understand the need for things to change and the current system to be improved. AITA alongside UKAP have started this with the draft health protocols.

AITA will be making a statement shortly after they have all the facts. They were dealing with this from yesterday when it broke and working with the Producer via the health protocols to ensure a safe UK industry.

There will also be an open health meeting to discuss the protocols for all producers and performers shortly. I trust that as many performers as possible will attend and join the conversation. There is work to be done and AITA are there for the industry and it's members, so join AITA and get involved, it's only ?50 for the year for a performer.

I just want to add to Lowerlofts post that joining AITA is a good thing for anyone working in the adult industry, not just for networking but for the resources that all in involved bring tothe table, influences, knowledge and contacts.

If models truly want to bring about change for the better, be it pay, conditions, their health, everything about your work ?50 a year is and investment that can be tax deductible as a business expense as well.

This problem is not going ot be that simple as stopping for a month unless the damage can be assessed properly or it will keep re-occuring for a long time and we'll have to stop all the time.

This problem is not going to go away without you, the models involvement. Produers are detrimental to tat success as well as they need to be convinced there is a problem enough to stop and if they don't stop it wil be a pr disaster for them as models talk! Forums spread the word.

Models can make that difference. Come to the next meeting and address your concerns. Can we count on seeing you there Danny? I guarantee you will get the support in making the business a better place if you do. Just gotta get involved first.

Associations are not your enemy. Make them work for you!

I am afraid to say the only "Protocol" of any real value is to do exactly as has been done in Budapest, ie no one allowed to work without a guaranteed genuine full test and a guaranteed genuine Penicillin jab for good measure.

Without this kind of brutal, Draconian measure, a "Protocol" is no more than just a word!

Believe me, I would sincerely love any kind of protocol to work, but anyone who understands anything of the epidemiology of a disease will know that just one person that slips through the net brings the whole house of cards down.

The only way this can work is by an arrangement with a reputable clinic doing ALL the tests and all the jabs. All certs to be embossed and examples published on line so people can see what a genuine test actually looks like. Of course this will work for a handful of studs and studesses who have the money and the work to warrant the expense of travelling to whatever clinic is chosen, but what about everyone else? Lets imagine a model in Liverpool needs now to come to London to get a test that only should now last for 3 weeks. It could cost her ?250 with train fare and clinic costs.

Finally what will any private clinic do, if they have exclusive rights to do all the tests? They will double the price.

The only real answer is for a standard NHS test that can be proved genuine, but of course because of red tape, it would take 5 years of meetings to ever get to this point!

Regents Park Clinic would be good because being from Blackpool I can go to their clinic in Manchester! That's a good place for anybody northern based and they're a well known reputable clinic x

Precisely why a protocol needs to put in place in agreement with everyone so that it doesnt come back into the business.

Getting a jab is just not enough. Get it a second time and it can have serious consequences
