Maybe better advice is to do what Kim sggests with adult work and clips4sale because it would avoid the significant overhead costs and AW seem to be favourable to the user in their percentage split which makes it more attractive to those who cannot afford a website

What you have suggested with web costs. hosting, BBFC certification and ATVOD will ultimately not make the poster any money is altogether bad advice. So everyone here encouraging you by saying what great advice this was is way out of line as well

If you have your own adult website then the law says you need to be a member of ATVOD

Really?? What law? Where???

ATVOD is a private limited company whereas OFCOM has government backed. At best they are an agency for OFCOM that is to say a buisness has been created by someone who is seekig backing from OFCOM to enforce and consolidate its actions.

Doesnt mean it is law therefore how is it illegal?

Listen to this:

I dont understand what they do but restrict you greatly from making any money from a website. Do you really feel the need to pay someone to do that?

Well ATVOD certainly seem to think that they are empowered by law

"Its duties and powers derive from the Communications Act 2003, as amended by the Audiovisual Media Services Regulations 2009 and the Audiovisual Media Services Regulations 2010 which came into force on 19 December 2009 and 18 March 2010 respectively. The Act confers functions on the Office of Communications (Ofcom) for the regulation of On Demand Programme Services, and gives Ofcom power to delegate certain functions to an appropriate regulatory authority."

While no doubt lawyers might want to argue, esp about the details of the rules they have invented, such fights are likely to be beyond the scope of an ordinary small site owner.

...which makes it bad advice to advise a girl looking for help in running an amateur website to go with ATVOD and BBFC certify her scenes.

Who in this whole business does that??? Do you? Would you?

"Have to say Kim you are one of the most misguided individuals in this business. You only have to look at the fact that you put an illegal tube site in your signature here."

Tube sites are not under attack from ATVOD for some magical reason unkown, sites like X-Hamster give you lots of coverage & most people with a bit of noodle will use the site as they do Myspace,Twitter,AW etc because of the vast hits you get.

I have never heard of you so i can forgive your wet behind the ears approach to me, i have all my sites based overseas we don't edit our material as we pay others overseas to do that thus avoiding ATVOD who have investigated me now twice & are quite happy that i don't edit/upload in the UK.

Stick your "ukcumsluts" in Google & see how many pages you get & then put in "Kims Amateurs" & you will see what misguided individuals we are...lol!

We are amateur by name not by nature as many established producers on here will know so crawl back under your stone & please don't even try pretending you are something better than us.

You will always get one person who tries to sabotage an important thread like this for whatever reason so let get back on track now please & drop the pettiness.
