What profession isn't a so called, "Closed shop?" A friends son wants to be a barrister, but he's given up because he can't get a pupillage, why? Cos none of his family have the right connections in the legal profession. What about fashion design and modelling, Stella McCartney and Jade Jagger, do you think either of these girls found fame through hard work? Read Stephen Fry's autobiography to find out how the UK's acting and film industry and the BBC is held in a stranglehold by Oxbridge graduates who are all pals.
If anything porn isn't a closed shop at all. The industry is desperate for new faces but no one has the money to take risks on trying out a new guy. Offering "services for free" is of no use to anyone, a producer still has to pay for a cameraman, tog, location and a girl. So if a guy fails the producer loses alot of money.
Take the advice from the seasoned pro's who replied like OEJ and Paul Jones. You need to take the initiative and dig into your own pockets as you would in any other business.
