The thing that winds me up is that I told another producer that I was unavailable to work today as I had confirmed a today's shoot. I work 3 or 4 times a month for James @ Hardglam and didn't want to let him down when I was approached by the model even after my past cancellations with her so it has cost me money whatever way I look at it and James has missed out on content that he really needed to shoot today. Awh well, until next time eh? Lol

Pete, don't stress. Move on, and use a proper model next time!

This does kind of remind me of....

Twitters day before she's looking forward to the shoot... never hear another thing... Then I get a text about 2 months later asking for a shoot.. Err HELLO! NO!

And I wasn't the first either from the emails I got back from the one's who asked who it was...

I have a simple rule.

One cancellation with, as far as I can determine, a true and valid reason and I will allow a second chance. A second cancellation or a fake excuse and the model is struck off my list for ever.

Just one example of a fake excuse i.e. a lie was a text from the model late afternoon the day before the shoot saying her mother was ill so she had to be with her mother yet I know from a post on here actually she did a shoot for another photographer.

hi Krystal,
I just saw the replies on this thread and it appears I have been misunderstood! If you read the thread from the beginning there was no mention of who the model was and I was merely commenting that if a girl lets me down I don't give her another chance and I move on to the next one . . I had no idea the model in question that Pete was referring to was you until several posts later!
I don't know what happened in this particular case but I can, certainly, vouch that Krystal has always turned up on time for all shoots for my network of sites and I have no issues whatsoever with her reliability. !happy!

Lol. Oh That was a reference to another posting on bgafd. You won't get the joke. Was regarding two models having a disagreement but that got deleted. I think you will find that I was supportive in another post regarding Peter where people were asking if he was genuine.

You might find this interesting - it's something I m setting up to deal with just this problem.

The idea is that serious photographers and serious models use it. And if people won't, then at least you know you take a view has to how committed to the shoot they are.

Pete, it's not the model I stepped in for.

It is annoying when you get cancellations by both models and producers but this does cut both ways and it isn't just models not turning up.

By saying that I'm not taking sides just voicing my opinion.

I've had people tell me they can't get London based models for shoots in London, that girls cancel at exactly the time they're due on set and all sorts.

Just be honest and say if you don't want to work with someone, saves alot of time and effort on both sides.

I try not to cancel shoots, and I'm usually called upon at short notice with a 2 hour drive to get to a shoot but I still turn up.
