I've done 3(4 maybe if you count being an extra) scenes & enjoyed every one but I'm still treated as the guy looking for sex when I try to ask a question or get listed anywhere. Well,I did try the software side of porn production in the late 70s/early 80s,courtesy of Milton Snr and others.He had a 'brand' of course,but looking at Private's latest accounts,even his family are finding things hard going.

I then sat down and thought about what the biz needed.With the internet,it seemed that bullet proof servers with a good payments system(sufficiently now for the banks themselves to use) would help.Then find a location for your servers,as near to the internet backbone as possible,get some really good tech help,and off you go.There are other people who make porn,but they need to put it on servers,and get payment systems in place.

It has not been easy,and there is the matter of constant investment/renewal of hardware.

I guess that no more than 27% of our revenue comes from porn.However most businesses selling on the 'net need our services.

That's my two penneth worth!

1) Be the producer.

Hint 1 , this usually means NOT HAVING SEX (which for many people rather defeats the object of getting into porn in the first place), unless you have got really good cameracrew that you trust.

Hint 2 , you need film making technical skills commesurate with the style you want to shoot.

2) and then

EITHER

a) Invest enough in kit and shoots to show people that you can make stuff to their spec. Then run around trying to get people to give you the contracts.

That will cost you several grand and may not get you anywhere. Lots of people want contracts, not many get them.

OR

b) Decide that you have a new idea / theme / style and go all out to realise it as your own site, this will cost you a LOT more - I'd say 20K minimum plus marketing overhead - just to find out if enough PAYING customers agree with you.

MOST people who try (a) fail to get contracts. Most people who try (b) think they can get away with less and run out of money before they've done enough to test it.

12 years after hearing this and laughing, it has a strange kind of logic, oh and btw the guy is a multi-millionaire now, not in porn however, wonder if he followed his own advice?

I wish people were this forth-coming when I ask questions, it's like trying to play a hand without knowing my cards.
I would say try to find someone you can trust that already does or has done it as a lot of promises made & not kept. I reckon making your own stuff you're more in control.
Performing is something I'd love to do more of but I find you have to sometimes hassle just to get a reply. 4 scenes later I'm still in the same position as I was before I began, nowhere.

You could always peruse Theres quite a few tid bits there to help you along

Read through this forum for a week...decide if its still for you & start small with a normal DV camera & some willing girl.
If you are good it will show in the first year but if you do shit give up, again looking on here first will bve your best insight into the industry.
