Maybe thats why its better to go through those clinics Dylan.

I'd be more concerned about the NHS track record for losing confidential data where private clinics are more secure and discrete

If for example you are concerned about this affecting your personal insurance claims then the fact you use the NHS your data can be easily accessed anyway.

Even with the data protection laws in place, your information canbe easily accessed on the NHS database anyway. its just not disclosed but you'll know about it when they present you your quote. they just wont disclose the source where they get the information from.

Private clinics are exactly that. Private and hence another reason why they cost more

The data protection aspect was addressed by a lawyer present at the meeting last year.

Hi,

Firstly, I dont know who charges ? 250. http://www.clinic-express.co.uk charge ? 125 and usually the certs (if all tests are negative of course) are availible in 2 days. Unlike the NHS who can take up to a week.

Secondly the system will be optional, you dont need to join if you dont want to. Its just to make life a little easier.

Finally, we are working with the NHS on this. SO... If you still get tested by the NHS, you will be able to ask them to upload your data to www.online-certification.co.uk if you're a member... If not then you can still use your paper cert.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks

Chris

Hello Mr Jack!

Thanks for your post... Just to confirm a few points as the details I posted yesterday are only a very short overview.

The FDA that my web and database guy is working to is around 10 pages... So I have tried to keep it short.

I have started to compile a list of film producers, that with your permission I would like you to take a look at. Everyone will be notified shortly, and encouraged to sign up and use the system when we go live? Things are progressing with the NHS well, and I was very excited about a recent meeting with Indigo, so I couldn?t resisit a quick post.

I would just like to point out that every film producer (free member / user) will be manually verified. This will help us to prevent just anyone from joining.

I'd appreciate any other criticism, concerns or suggestions from anyone on this?

Thanks

Chris

If you click on the Regents Park Clinic option the initial test is ?225 and follow up tests are ?125.

You may do well to get about 17 UK producers to sign up by posting at

Just wondering why you didnt post there as well since we did have a big meeting last year which must have prompted or at least inspired the scheme. Several clinic reps have used the recordings as a springboard for this scheme as they told us so

Unless of course it was something you had in the pipe line. We did have a represnetative from Regents Park Clinic there last year.

Either/or its just good to see it finally happening.

a great idea but ?225 for intial test will put many off especially the girls that only do 2-4 shoots per month would of been a much better idea to start with the first test at a low cost to encourage people to use the service intead of stinging us for every penny

There seems to be some confusion here over the price

I have agreed to do this in association with Regents Park Clinic as they are (as far as I know) the most popular private clinic at least in London. That is the only association my clinic 'Clinic Express' and Regents Park Clinic have.

Regarding the costs of tests / certs. Regents Park Clinic charge ?225 for the initial test / certs. Subsequent 30 Day certs are charged at ? 125.

At clinic express we charge ? 125 for 30 Day certs whether its your first time or 100th.

What other Private Clinics charge is up to them as with the NHS.

Regarding the ONLINE CERTIFICATION SYSTEM- This will initially be free, but after three months we will be charging around ? 150 per year - annual membership.

Your annual membership to the Online Certification Scheme will enable both the NHS and Private clinics to upload your valid 30 Day Certs to the secure server.

This means you will have your certs quicker, you wont have to carry them around or worry about the validity of another performers certs.

The system will initially be voluntary, however some of the key players in the NHS have stated that they can see this eventually replacing the paper based system altogether.

This is another thing that was discussed at the meeting and that is this verification system should not be seen as a substitute for paper based certs because producers require them on the day to comply with 2257 documents

OEJ- so effectively there'll be two systems in operation? The paper and online?

I would like to know what other clinics are going into this, I'm based in the Midlands and my nearest private clinic charges nearly ?300 for STI screening suitable for this industry!

Thanks
