I shoot with a Canon Vixia HV30. Fantastic Quality. Matches the XH-A1 in good light. Only problem is that when you walk around with it, it looks more shaky than something heavy like the XH-A1. That can easily be fixed with a small steadycam though.

I got mine for just under ?500.

Put it this way, if you're gonna pay a model a couple hundred quid, you're gonna kick yourself if the shoot comes out crap.

Not necessarily. Maybe further down the line when youve actually made some money and can buy better equipment.

And holly d rather than showing us your patronising self 'ohh id just go home if I saw someone with a cheap cam' attitude, answer the question.... Im not looking for your past experiences or life story.

Is a Flip Mino HD camcorder a reasonable camera to shot with?

Thank you!

I agree, I'm going to price up a Sony Z1. If you want a class model to turn out a class shoot then I guess you gotta have some decent kit :)

all depends . if the shoot is for a website or dvd yes . but if you are just a Amateur video maker for home use theres no pint in spending 3k plus. for under ?500 you can get a shit hot video camera what will suit all your needs.
just find a model willing to work with Amateurs and not a model up her own ass . ......
