You've completely missed the point! No one on the programme said porn was aimed at kids and the programme very much pointed the finger straight at the parents. The programme was about a) making parents aware what their kids are seeing b) pointing out to children the difference between reality and the fantasy.
Not one part of that show said we were bad for making it.

On the boob issue Cate they were trying to point out that most women have bad boobs and although there are plenty of nice natural ones out there, the free porn market (which is what children are most likely to see) is saturated with the very fake American, enhanced, nip tuck look. This in turn effects what young boys want girls to look like and girls themselves to look like which for the unfortunate saggy boobed girl in the playground this can lead to poor self confidence in an already difficult time of being a teenager. Lets face it most normal people also end up with women with boobs like that its a reality the boys need to realise. They also were talking to children so they simplified the experiment to make it easy to understand. The Cat Sat On The Mat!

Coming across child porn within a minute is a bit unlucky/suspicious but if you don't know what you're looking for online you can stumble across such material.

As for the porn that the parents were watching it was actually some sick shit! On the first day of filming with them they gave us links to where they found the videos and believe me when we watched them we were shocked! It was miles away from anything we would even promote on this board.

As a whole it was a shame the programme had so many inaccuracies but that is due to the people in the know (porn industry in particular) being so tight lipped. If we act like we've got something to hide we are just supporting the seedy, underground reputation porn has developed over the years. That?s why we are so honest throughout the documentary. These inaccuracies have meant a lot of you just got angry at the points it wasn't making and missed the point it was. We have spoken to many non-industry people and they all believe the show was fair and frank and did not portray the porn business in a bad way, but was a wake up call for parents and society.

Children should be protected from explicit material we all must at least agree on that?

There is still another 3 parts to the series so maybe they will get the point across better to industry folk, or maybe I?ll agree with you all by the end of the week . . .

That's a good point about porn people being tight lipped, but they've been burned before so I can understand their apprehension about the Soho media types!

Maybe when I finish my film degree I'll make a doc with a positive porn message, and since I've been posting here for years, I think you'll know where my loyalties lie!

I think Damian's post was fantastic - I couldnt agree more. I think children SHOULD be protected from pornographic material, and i think that when people are sexualised too early in their development it can lead to unhealthy sexual attitudes later in life. I think that the type of porn promoted here is generally a fun and great way for adults to share their sexuality and be open and happy about what turns us on. At the end of the day, enjoying sex and not having any hang ups about it is healthy, but in order to be that way you have to a certain level of maturity. I love porn and being a very sexual person, but I am an adult who experiences adult relationships i believe it is healthy for me to express my self this way. That's why I write my blog daily (http://hotmandy.wordpress.com) and openly discuss everything sexual, but I would be horrified if a minor was engaging in such behaviour. Damian I thought your honesty on the show last night was great, and I think your response here is amazing. Thank you xxx

So would you agree that this board should be censored or all users here have to prove there identity via post, credit card or some other method to prove they are 18 or over?

Interesting posts here but Im gonna have to defend Damian for having the integrity to do the show when all else (including myself) advised against it and in truth i did it because he asked me and I admired him having the guts to do it when I knew he could have been villified for it.

The show got off to a shaky start yesterday but was ok tonight. Im glad the BT guy mentioned about the filters and parents responsibility so it took the sting off from yesterday which I felt didnt help the cause in its scaremongering those it is supposed to educate.

I do agree though that without some input from the industry the show would've been a lot worse if left to its own devices.

Damian held his ground well and was a much needed voice representing the industry.

Well done mate...We aint out the ball park yet though. The week is still young.

Given its subject matter, porn is never going to be cut and dried in pleasing everyone as anyone who is in it already knows there are some unpleasant aspects of this business that people would find very questionable.

Maybe people in the business should help steer things in the right direction by assisting with research than just put a block on it so that these programmes only make do with whoever agrees to do it and make the industry look bad which is fairly easy to do by not allowing them "access all areas" and to stay on course.

Notice its the show that came off bad on its first day. Not Damian.

I do agree with Cates analogy about porn being not accepted by the general mainstream as that is its appeal. Wheres the fun in it being totally acceptable?

We are your dodgy dark secret in the cupboard. Under your bed and we know what kinky little thoughts go on inside your head.

We know you want it. Give in to your temptation...Go on, have a wank, we wont tell anyone.

Its our little secret.....Ha ha haaaaaa!
