somewhere between 300,000 - 500,000 porn mags sold every month in the UK. There must be some punters out there getting what they want. and i was one of them untill as chris pointed out things changed (how many years did it run before the change) ..fair enough it is the nature of all thing's but my Taste didnt...
If the Paul Raymond group wanted to bring out a younger teenie look why didnt they just create a new mag ?
If your selling mag's your the ones missing out on a good marketable product that had a unique selling point ...
I liked it .

Re: O/T New Razzle
You havn't answered the question about the so-called readers wives/girlfriends.
You might be able to con Joe Bloggs into thinking Miss X from Town Y is genuine, but those of us here know her as Laila Gates, Danielle Mannaken, Sandy Caine, Autumn and a whole host of others.
There *are* real "readers wives" out there so why con the public by using well known models under different names?

Re: O/T New Razzle
In defence of Paul, he's only been doing the Razzle job for a few months.
And on the subject of teenies, as the editor who created Just 18, I think I'm pretty well qualified to comment. As I said in a previous thread, much of this business is actually driven by the US and by photographers (despite what Dave Wells might have you believe). Like a lot of forum visitors, I'm old enough to remember (and work with at the time) the likes of Shanine Linton, Teresa May, Linda Leigh, Heather Fornier, Vida... pretty much everyone from the mid-80s, in fact.
In those days, the market demanded glamour, and there wasn't a photographer alive who'd dress them up as teens, mainly because very few of them would've been convincing. Plus, there was no perceived demand in the market for 'young look' sets. Then along came Barely Legal in the US, and everything changed!

Re: O/T New Razzle
I never wanted to be convinced that Shanine Linton was a school girl ,i was turned on by the fact she was a woman , i like mature (mid 20's to 30's) women in uniform.
i can understand pressure from the states changing the market
but as models like 'Teresa May' are still making a living and people like me still want to see her (in and out of uniform)
dont you think there could be a place in the uk market for the old format's? (LIKE THE CLASSIC CLUB EVENT'S)
Mayfair is a prime example as a number of site's have poped up
scaning the back issues , because of the girls and the type of glamour of the time ....i personaly find more erotic that the late ninty's teen 'gynecology'
So why cant it be still (french) made ?
p.s who's David T.......?

Re: O/T New Razzle
I don't know, I go out to ogle some naked women and it all kicks off in my absence?
As far as I'm concerned, it's horses for courses. I don't mind that Elton doesn't like the way Razzle has developed, although I do think it's a little off to attack a magazine he doesn't claim to buy any more - how can he judge the content when he hasn't seen it? Also, with his obvious bias towards websites, I can't help but wonder whether he designs them for a living?
When I put posts up advertising what's going into Razzle here, the aim is to inform people that there's a good set of a model who features on this site going in the magazine. I don't mention foreign models, or models who don't appear elsewhere on this site. I also mark up the thread as 'off topic', so people know in advance what they're getting. It's totally above board. If you're not interested in Razzle, fine, but if the aim of this site is to celebrate British models in the adult industry, surely it makes sense to advertise when we're featuring one. It's not like there's a gun pointed to anyone's head.
As to the relative price, well it's up to the consumer as to whether they think a product represents good VFM. Not everyone wants to spend ?15 a month on a website, paying by credit card, particularly with the number of scare stories doing the rounds (whether there's any truth in them or not). Some people want to go to a newsagents, hand over their money, and then go home to enjoy the mag. Those are the people I'm putting the magazine together for - and it's why the magazine's are still selling in large numbers.
Anyway, I hear the distant call of women shedding clothes, so I'm off. Evening all.

Re: O/T New Razzle
I notice you are STILL avoiding the question regarding the so-called Readers Wives!!! When are you going to be honest? If a girl is a professional model, and as recogniseable as someone like Sandy Caine, for example, then why try and pretend she's someone else? It just doesn't make sense and IMHO makes you look foolish at best and down right shifty and untrustworthy at worst.

I used to be a regular mag buyer, but since gaining access to
the net two years ago i've spent not one penny on printed porn.
I would guess plenty of folk have found the same.
Just my twopenneth...cheers.

Re: O/T New Razzle
I can't answer for magazines that I didn't put together, but speaking personally, I always try to avoid using women who are obviously models in the readers' wives section of the magazine - and the latest Razzle is a case in point. Where problems arise is when you get pictures of models sent in as readers' wives pictures (because they're shot by photographers who do glamour as a hobby), or where you get pictures of a model sent in as a readers' wife who then starts working professionally. Nici Sterling, to name just one, started out by sending readers' wife pictures into magazines, but before long she was working as a professional model - and was phenomenally successful. Also, there are wives who send in pictures on a regular basis, so they appear again and again. It's impractical to suggest that we should use pictures of a 'wife' once, and then disregard any future submissions, but generally, I've always found that editors try their best to ensure that there's a variety to readers' wives pages, and that obviously professional pictures don't get in. Featuring women on a 'once only' rule would also penalise people who get a real kick out of sending pictures into magazines on a semi-regular basis, and those people are much valued readers of the titles. It's always going to be something of a difficult area but, again speaking for myself, I do try to ensure that there's a variety to that part of the magazine, and will continue to do so in future.
This situation isn't exclusive to magazines. Many's the website that features pictures of the models you've mentioned and described them as amateurs, when it's obvious that they're not.

Re: O/T New Razzle
McCavity's view is you can take a PC into the bog with you so there will always be room in the market for mags. Until PDA lauches big-time then you can take vids & pictures into the bog with you. Privat lauch their PDA magazine at Easter I think,

There are a few shops that now sell 'under the counter' mags featuring custard, yes, and even JELLY.
