Fuckin ada!!!! She got a hundred pahnd a set???? Thing is did she sell much? Theres got to be more to that angle.

Anyway as some of you know i have done content swaps with Lolly, Sahara, Tammy etc but because I'm so content rich i say to the girls they can have the material exclusively for a year. So far its been over 2 years.

I dont sell to content brokers. thats the fastest way of shafting yourself in the bum I think where money is concerned but I understand they have more than their fair share of clients to fill up with new content they can sell off for dirt cheap and I'm talking super dirt cheap.

Makes me wonder why i even bother to pay for shoots anymore...

Seriously though Sandie. No offence girl but what did you think? You know how fast this industry can have you over a barrel up the bum with no vaseline...metaphorically speaking of course.

Still. I'd like to think people I have dealt with through the years have been fairly treated by me.

Sandie get in touch with me and we'll discuss what you have and what we can do with it. You can still put some stuff this way for wrist Action TV bt w

Oh and Kim if you are reading this.....AHEM! (taps fingers and toes waiting impatiently).

Oh yeah to add. Peter is right. it is definitely one of the death knells of the business having the content n both sites but if you see it as padding then it aint too bad but if you got to much of it around ie single girl sites doing girl/ girl because they dont want to do b/g then you might as wel say you are setting yourself up for failure.

I've tried to advise some people but would they listen?...No and then they wonder why they are not doing well when there is so much of the same stuff out there for free in some cases...and if you got something ut there that is nt that popular and on more than one site already. I'll let you figure that one out.

Streetwise is right. Two seperate shoots is the way both parties come off better but some girls cant be arsed to do this.

Some cases I've done profit shares where the money is split 50/50 on sales which is probably why I have some people always keen to do business with me. Its just the finding time to do such things these days.

When doing content share both parties have equal rights to the footage so companies can't buy that material as exclusive & have to told, to this would be fraud because its non-exclusive (owned by said parties).
Many companies only buy exclusive footage which rules out shared content
video & pictures unless both parties agree, the good thing about non-exclusive material is it can be sold tens times over earning both parties money.

Only if you make an agreement to that, and sign a contract, otherwise, the default position falls back to copyright ownership.

When we do content share each party gets the same film on mini DV & photo's on CD rom, each have to sign a model release & provide photo i.d. even if it a videographer/photographer , both have copyright but its the responsiblity of whoever tries to sell the media to be honest & say its shared content. A lot are dishonest but don't last long in this business.

If its a case of a co production then yes. I've always done busines that way. Otherwise when shooting shows that have been on satelite I've just paid for the shoots outright. No fuss no muss.

In fact, owning your own material is the only real way to go.

I do agree there Terry this is why i've never worked for anyone else & i only do content share with people who can be checked into & are trusted. Most of our shoots are with swingers who just want a copy of the DVD then word of mouth does the rest when they tell friends of the fun they had etc.
If its something like the football club or the garage shoot we are doing next month we would rather pay fellow stars to keep all rights.

What a shame, never mind, remember you'll always be the girl that launched the good ship, HMS Jimslip and you'll be forever affixed to her bow, bravely fending off waves and spray, during her perilous voyage through the mighty ocean that is the internet! I salute you Sandie Caine!

Just a quick question, were you going to offer the photographer a percentage of the money you would have made by selling the photos?

And given that you've put a suggested figure into the arena now, are you split to split that sum with him now?

I kind of feel that these issues are best addressed first with the other person to see if there is a deal to be done, before going over their heads to try and have one imposed on hem, which might serve to get some people's backs up.

Nope. What he does with the pictures is his look out and what i do with them is mine. This is the point that we are both trying to sell them to the same place.
I guess I should just take that option on the chin then and look for the next avenue. I guess he got there first so he takes credit there.

Im happy to split with him if its a case of us both wanting to sell to the same company. Some money is better than none. Obviously he would be losing out in respect of this particular site but if he later found id gotten to another site first id split with him.

I was purely asking for peoples general opinions on content sharing out of curiosity as im obviously having dealings within that area myself at the mo.
I was using my senario as an example of how ive found it to be ladden with difficulties.
I am infact addressing the issue directly (as i stated) aswell as asking for views seperatly in this thread.
