Well you can try THEHUN you will get loads of hits but few conversions as they are mostly freeloaders and if you are doing the hosting they will probably crash your site for little reward !sad!

I run a very successful adult site and have often thought of making money from re-selling by becoming an affiliate of pay sites, however I have two concerns:

1) CC Bill pays only in US$, with the exchange rate at the moment the dollar to pound conversion is not in our favour, also CC Bill pay weekly which means that unless I have a dollar account at my bank (and wait until the exchange rate becomes more favourable before converting the money to UK?) I have to keep paying ?10 to cash one of their US$ cheques. With CC Bill you can?t set a minimum payout amount so the cheques keep coming each week! Verotel on the other hand does allow you to set a minimum payout amount so you hard earned cash does not go on bank charges. Is there any way around the CC Bill weekly payout in US$ problem?

2) I am not a tax expert so I would need someone to advise/help me, every time I go and see an accountant/solicitor for help at the first mention of the words ?adult web site? they have a fit and show me the door. How does anyone get help with tax issues regarding the money made from adult sites?

1) Pretty sure I've seen it posted before that CC Bill DO allow you to set a minimum limit for check amounts.

2) Just don't refer to it as 'adult web site', refer to it as 'membership site' or 'pay site', your accountant does not need to know the nature of it.

so Paul L and Planeterotica...........you reckon that perhaps The Hun, is a waste of time?

Mr Kinky - what paysite is it that you run? Im sure there are people on this forum reading this post that can put you in the right direction for sourcing an accountant.

So does anybody else had success being an affiliate for other sites?

Mr Kinky,

In response to your questions

1) As nearly the whole adult world runs in $$$ we are all stuck with this. But you can pay in more than one cheque so hold them for a month or so then pay in all at once, the bank will only charge one fee not per chq.

2) There are a few accountants that specialise in adult. Our auditors know what we do as does the customs & excise. It is not illegal so just find an accountant that is a bit more open and just looks at it as just another business (which is what it is)

And to answer davepaterson, personally I think the hun is a waste of time (well it is for us - it must work for some people as their top 10 spots are paid for and cost a small fortune). but my opinion is for most sites the hun is just a bandwidth eater with no conversions.

Thanks I hadn't heard of the hun.

I just wondered why sites like Bangbros etc use them but the UK don't.

In a recent post Anjali said she wanted Killergram to be on a par with Bangbros for that to happen I would have thought advertising in the same places would be needed.

Ta for the explanation as I said it's just something as an outsider looking in I've wondered about.
