Should I give trial access to my site

Hello Ivar,

I'm not so upset about people coming in twice on a free membership. It has more to do wit saying unsatisfied with content but still happy enough to stay up all night and download the whole site. ANd then come back later and download all new material and say unsatisfied with content. Do they need to download the site and slag it off and then do the same again. I think not.

As an end user trial memberships is certainly the way honest sites with good contnent should go. It is just how to deal with the very few unhonest users who put down a site and still download everything off the site. If so unhappy with content why download it all.

If it is down to lack of content comapred to an American site with 100,000 photos + then please appreciate I am doing this all on my own, started in September and have so far made a loss of over 7000 pounds,

I certainly share most of your points. You certainly make a very good argument from a punter's point of view I agree. BTW You're not Vila Von Wilde R u? If you are - total respect.

I'm probably a little bitter in the fact that I have spent werll over 6000 on shoots and props and am a little upset when some one feels that ?2.50 is too much and should complain. I have spent shit loads of money and my time - many hours - to bring content only for someone to complain about paying ?2.50 to see it. I suppose its dog eat dog and going with the flow of the market.

Well I started in September and am trying my best to do some good work. If it fails then fair enough.

Glad to see not the only person up late tonight/this morning, having a real technical nightmare!!!

I personally think that by promoting your site, informing bgafd members what it is all about people will know exactly what is on there, giving trailers etc so they have a sneak preview, I don't think trial membership is a good idea down to people downloading everything and then rejoining when more updates are on.

If you can restrict someone signing up on a trial again then that would be good, why on earth would someone need another trial, they know what your site offers once logged in the first time!!

Stick with it Matt and good luck with whatever route you go down!

i think ecucamman made a great suggestion. Redirect trial members to a separate part of the site that has trial videos.

The other thing you could do is get rid of the trial membership and have video trailers instead that visitors could download and watch, if they like what they saw they'll join.

Keep smiling mate - I did after all send you a signup today... doh for me on my first day of being live!

You have a great site with great content - personally i'd introduce more 10-15 sec preview clips, and lose the trial membership.

I would certainly (with my punters hat on) have joined for a one month membership, having watched the Kimberly/Sandie/Kaz trailer. More of those will work wonders...

Don't see a need for a four day trial, as porn customers are greedy (I know I am), and you're already seeing what is in fact happening - people signing up, downloading everything, then trying it on again when they think there might be some more content to nab... i'd probably do the same BUT at the same time, if I wasn't presented with a trial, the previews would make me take the chance and sign up for an initial 30 days.

On a plus note as well, you now also have a tonne of content to add - keep singing about what's 'coming soon' from the rooftops and I can see the recurring memberships rising and rising. You're at a crossroads now, where the investment should start seeing a return...

Keep up the good work your site is one of the best, well worth the membership. I agree that trial memberships are frought with probs so just offer one free/trial hit then if the punter can't see what your all about then STUFF them!
