Hi Lolly

I have forwarded you the camz contact to get some help. Just to clear up a couple of things: Whilst they do have their problems at times i find on the whole that CAmz provide an excellent service. I have had problems with connection but it is not ALWAYS their fault as i do my shows on a laptop and sometimes its my connection (freedom2surf has been terrible of late).

They also have a thing whereby you can broadcast to your members only so there are less people in the show and its a little more intimate. I do the big shows to get my website out to a wider audience but the intimate ones are a little added bonus for my site members.

Hope you have some luck Lolly and will be emailing you RE content shooting soon!

Have a great New Years everyone

Rebekah.x

lolly, look into a Java Applet, that runs on ur website, and you stream to it, it streams to ur users, so all your streaming 1 from ur PC, so like 8KBps UP, and then ur website handles the load.

I set this up for an office cam, and we was able to have about 50 users without a problem, bandwidth used was in the region of 2gb an hour for 50 users, but thats nothing when u think if some hosts offer 100gb, thats like 50 hours non stop viewing for 50 people.

Hey Lolly - I have the ICQ number of Dan who owns camz.com - gimme a shout if you want it.

On the subject of doing camshows off your own server, make sure you know it can cope with lots of viewers - you wouldn't want things to fall down if your shows get really popular. 50 viewers isn't very many - some camz.com shows get over 1000 viewers but then they do have shitloads of members.

Hope to work with you in 07 - we just missed out on your last shoot before your knee op!

Lolly, The site we had up NEVER got more than 50 viewers, so i never tested it beyond that...

I recon a shared hosting server could hit 2-300+ viewers, a dedicated server i think 1000+ without much strain, but your bandwidth will shoot up, if you work with a hosting company, you could get a server setup that can handle 10s of 1000s, more money to be made without cutting a 3rd party in :)
