I have had to have a drink tonight, due to the news of my friend Joe.

Before he went into hospital he stayed with me and sonia for a couple of months, so I was able to get close to him outside a work level. It was amazing chatting to him. We shared so much in common. Although he was outspoken he had a massive heart, and has had a fantastic life, if miracles happen I hope he has one, because without alternative people like Joe the world will be a duller place. We all know he had his issues, but believe me, his morals were always of the highest fibre. And I am not talking about stupid porno squabbles, but the sort of man as small as he was would stand and fight with you at the gates of val halah? excuse the spelling. It has really made me stop and think who and what is important, and I hope he can pull through but from what I am told it does not look good.

However after talkng in depth with him, he has lived many lives and lived to the full. Sometimes we are robbed of people who should have so much to offer their world. Even though many of us have fallen out with Joe's outspoken ways. I would like you to know he would stay loyal to his friend till the end of time.

I have made some great new friends from the BGAFD and Joe was one of them, I have also found some great sparring partners here, I hope we all join together weather fans or foe to wish him all the best.

I am off for now, I hope this doesn't look too bad when I am sober.

I have only ever met Joe once, but from the LONG chats that we had (bless him!!!!) he is a decent guy that under my spell of chattiness (once started!!!) I got on really well with. I really feel bad for him and his family at this difficult time. I wish and pray for him to recover, he seems a very strong guy and I hope to god that he finds the strength to pull through. I hate to think of anybody in pain as I have seen alot of this sort of thing but I know he is kanda special and I am hoping that he can conquer the devil on this one!! I am not religious or anything but if there is a god then I am really praying and wishing for him to get through all of this!!

Love & Hugs to Joe and all of his loved ones

Well said Marino!

I too had the opportunity to know Joe away from work, (and have also had a few drinks tonight so if this is bollocks I apologise)

I have nothing but warmth for my friend Joe and am finding it difficult to take in how ill he is.

It seems only five minutes ago that he was stood in my kitchen ruining my coffee machine then shouting at it cos it didnt work.

When I got involved in this business there were a couple of people that really helped and made me feel part of it. Joe was at the forefront of that and became a family friend. I just add my name to the list of people praying for his recovery

In the midst of life we are in death ... but for now we gotta try and give Joe some strength. Don't be sad .... be defiant !
