The reason i said this Peter was because most new models like to be chaperoned, there is no real reason for them to leave the studio as long as they stay out the way of a shoot unless it makes you feel uncormfortable which most Pro photographers are not.

I've just given you a real reason, insurance. Thanks to thieving chaperones I've had in the past, my insurance company has decided not to cover me if I allow a stranger to wander around for several hours unaccompanied. (and I can't blame them)

This also removes my liabilty cover, so if a light falls over and rips half her face off, she'll have to sue me personally, rather than make a claim on my insurance. I'm not willing to risk losing everything because some silly girl has read on website about chaperones and thinks she can have a day out for two at my expense.

As I've said, it's never beena problem for me. If references aren't good enough for her, she can always turn the job down.

I meant no offence to Peter & its nice to know he is genuine, i only mean't i get the best from girls when they are relaxed & if it means having a chaperone present to achive this i don't mind & i couldn't understand the insurance thing until it was explained.
Dealing with amateurs & not pro's i am aware of their fears when doing a shoot for the first time on their own, Peter is known & safe but there are a lot of shady photographers out there & i would advise any female doing a shoot to take a chaperone with her. Ten years in this business makes you very wary.

I have no qualms about a model bring someone with them on a shot but I prefer not for them to be in the same room, I learnt this on several occasions, when I shot several videos with the boyfriend or who ever in the room. the models kept looking at them, When questioned I was told they were making faces and doing silly things behind my back. Waste of my money, and videos were no use. basically they were taking the piss.
