One of the reasons I don't regularly see French/Euro mainstream dramatic films, and which explains why I dislike the Mario Salieri hc films--lack of lighting. And yet I hear the light in Europe is so much brighter than in North America. You can't really tell from looking at their films. They seem to prefer the (interior) lighting darker, can't understand why.
In their mainstream films they continuously talk, talk, talk ad nauseam. They don't seem to trust audiences in coming to certain conclusions on their own.
And the other odd thing (speaking of mainstream movies) is that not 10 minutes go by than they are eating something or other (in bed, etc), and if it's breakfast they are slurping from those large (cereal) bowls. It's a culture thing for sure, but isn't it about time they efect some change?
