I cannot speak for what type of porn was exhibited in movies theaters in the 1970's in Italy, as I was not living there. I had no access to such information either at the time, it was bad enough trying to get info of US and French porn movies in that time period. There wer only a handful of movie magazines that were available (Eroscore and Sex Stars System in France, Adam Film World in the USA, followed in early 1980's by Cinema-X, Velvet Erotic Film Guide, Video-X, etc)
I know from I have been reading around that Joe D'Amato used to sneak hard core inserts in his softcore erotic movies and sell them overseas (France), and there is evidence that these hard-core inserts were also exhibited from time to time in Italy as well, without the authorities being the wiser.
I would find it strange and extremely unlikely hard-core porn would have been exhibited in movie theaters in the mid 1970's in Asian countries as well as South America. Unless you can corroborate, I am very skeptcical.
I really do not know what is the first feature length Italian porn film (I am not talking about hard-core inserts, I am talking about an all-out hard-core film where al the cast engages in explicit sex). I saw Mona Pozzi's debut porn movie VALENTINA (1981) about 20 years ago. I believe Marina Hedman was turning them out before Pozzi.

You must be very young. If you go by official data, then in Italy we never had porn. What you can pick up about distribution of porn material in theatres you can pick by the words of former viewers and producers and by evidence like that of the films themselves.

P.S. Who's Walter?

I am not an expert on early Italian porn movies, but that cannot be!!.
Mona Pozzi made her porn debut in VALENTINA which according to ANICA was released in December 1981. I saw it about 2 years later in a VHS copy
TELEFONO ROSSO, according to ANICA again, was released in theaters in March 1986!!!!

Dear karakacan, the first porn in Italy was Telefono rosso by Riccardo Schicchi in 1983. However, there are various films released in 70s, which contain hardcore scenes. If you will be content with finding these, search for films directed by Joe d'Amato, such as Porno Holocaust.

I dunno anything about that Moana Pozzi debut but according to memoirs of Ilona Staller, Telefono rosso was shot in 1983 but that was not in accord with the then legal regulations in Italy and its release in theatres was postponed for many years. That's why in certain sources cite its date as 1986. However, I am not very much convinced in that case, I guess it will be more appropriate to start a new discussion with a new topic.
