Some MP's are human. Our local MP was walking out of Gregg's last week holding a baguette and coffee. Not all fine wines and caviar. As an aside his assistant has an awesome set of cans...

As an MP he will be travelling 1st Class with the Taxpayer picking-up the bill.

I have often thought if MPs were only allowed to travel / claim for Standard Class travel (like I have to when I travel for business), we would soon see an improvement in the standards provided to us plebs.

In all honesty, Max, I absolutely loathe the bloke. He's up there with Jack Straw on my list of hated MP's.

I saw Hilary Benn on a very busy tube train very late on a Friday night last year, head buried in paper while a load of pissed up people were falling about all over the place.

I agree that some MP's are very down to earth and accessible. I remember one MP saying that after some difficulty he had people in his constituency were coming up to him and giving him hugs. He obviously had no issue with that, and he must have been pleased that he was so liked - as many MP's are disliked by the public.

He is one of the most controversial members of parliament ever, there are so many things that he has done which are either questionable or downright bad that it is amazing he's still an MP - even more amazing that he's head of the Home Affairs Select Committee.

St Pancras is named after the very ancient church nearby, Pancras is one of the oldest places of worship in the country. It still stands, on that road leading up to Camden Town, which has urban sprawl on one side and railway lines on the other side - rather different from the nice rural area it once was. I had heard about this previously but it was only when I looked it up on Wikipedia just now (link below) that I realised I was spelling it wrong, Pancreas rather than Pancras. lol.

Expenses are very generous to all public sector people, not just MP's. Civil Servants have very generous perks too.

Its good these people work when they are travelling, it means they're properly earning their taxpayer-funded salaries.

Who says Vaz was working whilst he's travelling 1st Class?
