Maybe you should stay with Max in London and he could introduce you to a Muslim. I have heard there is loads of them there. Apparently Prince Charles is a Muslim. You could always take some kind of weapon like a kilo of new potatoes, if the meeting goes all sort of pear-shaped.

On the other hand better not. By the time you get back to a "very rural area in the Scottish Borders" there will be 20,000 extra Muslims there and you will get woken up at dawn by the call to prayer from the local mosque.

I must say that the individual who mentioned that to me, that Kosher is as bad as Halal as far as the animal suffering is concerned, is the only person I've ever heard say it. The papers don't mention it, but love to have a go at muslims. On Wednesday The Sun did a front page about Halal meat, on Thursday it was The Express with their front page - and the TV networks too.

Yes, there are one or two muslim's in London. We almost got Europe's biggest mosque built here in London, if that super-leftie Livingstone had had his way. Red Ken wanted to commission a mosque the size of a football stadium to be built in east London. We'd have probably been the first capital city in the world to have a building NOT to do with the principal religion of that country as its biggest religious building. Luckily it was defeated. So was Livingstone. He now tends to his garden behind his terraced house in Cricklewood whilst Boris runs the place. Although he might become the next PM so we'll have another Mayor. Will the next one be a Leftie? Will he/she commission the construction of the super-mosque? Scary times could be ahead...

This is an attempt at humour I think, but it comes over as child-like rubbish.

I might live in the sticks but I work in Edinburgh. Even then our muslim problem is nothing like yours in England, I am very glad to say.

One other point I would like to make is that It is not so much the method of
how the animals are killed, it's that what I might be eating has been blessed by

Why? If ever you have eaten a curry in an "Indian" restaurant, chances are 95% you have eaten halal meat. M&S ? lamb almost totally halal. Sainsbury's lamb? Yep it's halal. The only guarantee you have is your bacon sandwich isn't halal ? unless of course it's turkey bacon...
