?200m won't mean a thing if there is no Euro exposure. Players simply won't sign. Every time you see a player linked with Manure the names City, PSG etc appear and they are on the rise...

Simply not true. Man City signed lots of good players when they weren't in the Champions League, as did Liverpool and most recently, Spurs.

In France you only have to look at the players Monaco have brought in and they're not in the Champions League.

But you do have to spend more to attract the top players. Man Utd had the carrots of prestige and Champions League football. Now they just have the prestige........they'll have to make up for the other with hard cash....and lots of it.

I'd say more players will be put off with having someone like Moyes in charge than lack of European football.

This has been doing the rounds on the internet:

"At training yesterday, back at the Carrington complex, David Moyes called the entire squad and youth team players together for a morale boosting speech. In which the Man United manager promised all the players they would be winning a Euro competition by the end of the season - even if he has to write the song himself."

Boom-boom!!

Back to 7th, 8 points behind Spurs and City win silverware. Not the best weekend for the Salford Cockneys.

You should think a bit more clearly.

Man City winning the League Cup is actually helpful to Man Utd. It means they can get into the Europa League by finishing 7th rather than 6th, as would be the case if Sunderland had won.

I think Man Utd would rather miss out on the Europa League. It fucks up your season before it's even started.

Man Utd are better off finishing 8th, trying to recoup some of that money lost with pre-season friendlies and having all week off on European weeks to plan for weekend league games.
