I think the ferry boat idea is open to the most blatant abuse.

Stop it quite easily the spanish have enough navy ability to track thouse boats pick em up and send them back. 100 % success would be possible.

Did you read about the Syrian refugees in Calais "demanding" to be let into Britain? This is a complete perversion of the concept of asylum. They are in a western European democracy already, but that isn't good enough for them, they insist on coming here! Since when did asylum seekers get to decide where they got offered asylum? If they try that stunt out in Australia they find themselves in Papua New Guinea. Who's got the right idea?

It's total bullshit that every immigrant or asylum seeker wants to come to the UK. That's what the bigots, the small minded and little Englanders want you to believe. How arrogant. There are other countries on the planet.

Just to back up cockneygeezer's wise words, if you have a look at Table 2 Number of Asylum Seekers in EU and EFTA countries in 2011



you will see that Belgium, Germany, France, Italy and Sweden, all had more asylum seekers than the UK and the likes of Switzerland as a proportion of their population had a lot more.
