When the guy who got killed by grenade in the Shield died by stepping on a mine in SOA, his last words were something like "You gotta be shittin' me" which was apparently an 'in' joke with him and Sutter, about always killing him off by blowing him up.

We have need of you again, great king.
Re: The Wire
Good old Lem...took ages to realise that Kurt Sutter played otto in SOA.
Wonder if they could ever get Michael Chiklis to cameo in it.

Loved The Wire. loved The Shield, and loved Boardwalk Empire. All excellent in their different ways.

Re: The Wire
Love Sons Of Anarchy too. Whats not to like? Kurt Sutter is great
Michael Chiklis is doing ok in Vegas which is an ok-ish show trying to cash in on Nicholas Pileggis success with Casino. As I said its ok but not as hard hitting as the other shows. In fact its quite tame but I like it
Was great seeing Walton Goggins in Django. He's got the face of someone being a wrong un hasnt he?

Re: The Wire
That is your opinion, as is mine that the The Wire is far superior to The Shield.
Re: The Wire
Agreed that everyone has their own opinion regarding any subject but there does appear to be a certain phenomenon when it comes to HBO channel.
It seems to be something along the lines of a show that isn't that good or that original and yet people will immediately pronounce it the greatest thing ever for example game of thrones falls into this category.
If this was shown on any other network it wouldn't have got the reception it has.
Don't fet me wrong HBO have done wonderful shows such as OZ but the shows that get lauded are mostly the least interesting.

Re: The Wire
If what you say is true, Gentleman, Boardwalk Empire would be just as popular and lauded as Games of Thrones is but it isn't. And people would have heard about Enlightened, which was a fantastic series with Laura Dern which HBO cancelled after two series.
The buzz around HBO has died down because everyone else is trying to make the best TV they can, quite often very successfully. And just as AMC went on a winning streak HBO lost its way a bit for a couple of years. People follow the shows, not the stations, at least over here where so many are consumed as box sets.
