Not really an independent life on the open road if you own a caravan plot, is it?

OK if what you are all saying is fact them using a PO box number, or mates address is a must for all of us... when the speeding ticket pops in just say I was travelling or it never go to me.... and how do the Police knock on a PO box number to follow up a report about that car??

When they do a roadside police vehicle check via the database... PO Box 69 comes up ??? I just can't see that...

As a PO Box number has a registered fee payer then it can't be that difficult for plod to ask the PO for the details of the Box owner, can it?

The thread is not really about the validity or otherwise of the "life on the open road" is it?

Rodders is correct.

A post office supplied mailbox will have an associated address with it, which the PO has to provide to the statutory authorities when asked.

Anyone can ask for the address associated with a P.O. Box number, i've done it numerous times. Just ring up and ask.

You know, I've been making tentative enquiries and looking into a life on the road, but it seems impossible to achieve legally.

I am not talking about accommodation addresses. I am talking about Royal Mail mailboxes where individuals for whatever reason do not want the mail delivered to their address but would prefer to pick it up from their local delivery office.

For this service they have to provide a proof of address. Accommodation addresses is something completely different.

THe thread is about how travellers get their motors registered which has been explained and clearly does not prevent a traveller spending much of their lives, err, travelling.
