Maybe he reminds him of the copper who shagged his wife, who knows?

Some more Good News.

Got to ask though why did it take ten years to get here?

I still like this bit.......

"A US Department of Justice (DoJ) spokeswoman, in an October statement, said the US was "disappointed" by the home secretary's decision not to extradite Mr McKinnon."

Never mind mate, you'll get over it.

Good news indeed.

Whereas, perhaps a more realistic statement could have been along the lines of:

"A US Department of Justice spokeswoman, in an October statement, said the US was extremely embarrassed that it was possible for a hacker to access our military's secure systems. This in fact proves that our systems are no better than the average Joe's and just as vulnerable and of course not at all secure.

We will learn valuable lessons from this incident and wish all the very best to Gary McKinnon for the future and we are sorry that we even contemplated misusing the UK-USA extradition laws on this occasion.

If he could pass on any tips which might help to educate our would be boffins beyond their current first grade level, to achieve a similar level of expertise to his own, we would be more than grateful. Meanwhile we shall speak to Kasperskylabs.ru to see if they can help us out."

Nobody stood up to the USA.

This guy kept threatening suicide if he was extradited and the Home Secretary eventually gave in to his 'threats'.

The British government didn't stand up to the USA and nor did they wish to.

The BBC story linked to above says that his actions caused $800,000 (?487,000) worth of damage to military computer systems.

Surely that should read the BBC story says "the American's say his actions caused $800,000 worth of damage.........."

My reaction to that is.

1. They couldn't have been very well protected then.
2. American's talk a lot of shit.

This guy kept threatening suicide if he was extradited and the Home Secretary eventually gave in to his 'threats'.

So that's where Abu Hanza went wrong then. He should have just threatened suicide and Teresa would have caved in.
