Mountain appeared at the legendary Woodstock '69 festival but didn't make it into the movie. That exposure might have made them more familiar. As it is they continued with a good reputation amongst the more dedicated Muso's. Glad to hear that there is a classic guitar hero still at it.

I cant help but be struck by the unfortunate likeness West has to Andrea Dworkin, the anti-porn crusader of whom some here might be aware. I wonder if they are in any way related, as Private Eye used to say.

Lizard,

His choice of notes are unusual. Alot of the other rock legends are quite cliched with their choice and arrangement of notes I think. I had a Gibson Melody Maker circa 1958, at the time, which was a poor man's Les Paul Junior, which is what I really wanted. was desperate to get West's sound, but I reckon it was as much to do with his fat, podgy fingers and massive belly resonating against the body. I like Leslie Wests solo on Nantucket Sleighride from Mountain Live and at the end of the studio version of Theme From an Imaginary Western. !happy!
