Still waters run deep. Probably totally gobsmacked after 3 bad Slam losses and one when at least he won a set.

The emotion is certainly there. When he lost against Federer at Wimbledon this year, he could hardly string a sentence together. He was in tears and an emotional mess.

Three points,
1. No smiles? He had played tennis for five hours! He was physically (and probably emotionally) fucked!
2. The choker suggestions? I think if you look back at his previous Grand Slam "chokes" you will quickly see that he had spent a significantly greater time on court than his opponents. This was his fault I guess as he very rarely won in straight sets in the earlier rounds (still doesn't!) So on all of the occasions I would suggest the opponents were fresher! NB The Olympics was best of three sets until the final!
3. Most importantly, he was Scottish when he lost and he is Scottish now he has won! Get your own sporting heroes! ;-)

He loves Scotland so much he lives in a mansion in Wimbledon, has an English fiancee, a Czech coach, is sponsored by a German sporting goods maker etc etc..

Henman wasn't good enough to be a choker.

if you read what I wrote you would notice at no time did I speculate on how much he loves Scotland.

Henman only had a bit of a chance at SW19 but his serve just wasn't big enough, Murray has always had a better chance at all the slams although i think the Australian surface is his worst.
Glad he proved a few people wrong who said he'd never win one, although I did think he was destined to be "the Jimmy White of tennis"
