Thank you Dave for Rocco`s interesting post but the figure he quotes, so
far (and I am throwing in all that I know when I say this) seems far too
high unless it includes spouses and lovers of performers which makes it
more accurate, I suspect (in other words xbiz misunderstood him). We
seem to have about 25-30 people affected, I have heard of two or three
cases in Prague, we know it is in L.A. Clearly, by now, someone in England
must have it.
It will be a long time before those with syphilis are re-admitted back into
the industry here (if ever). Those who have now showed up healthy after
two full syphilis tests, a full test for every other sex disease (hepatitus,
HIV etc etc) + an injection of pencillin G, (the principal method of treating
the disease) will start work next monday unless the clinics here voice an
objection in next few days. If the biz re-starts it will be interesting to see if
the new testing procedures really help to control the problem and also if
they help keep a lid on new suspects. I remain optimistic but only time will
tell.

I love the way Rocco has now become an Epidemiologist and in typical Italian style is now pointing the finger of, "J'accuse!" everywhere, except in the direction of other Italians! lol He blames, Romanians and Russians when in reality he knows fuck all about how the disease got into porn industry. It could have come from anywhere.

Do you recall the scare a few years ago in Budapest when some top studs and studesses were constantly getting infected with Gonorrhea and were also pointing the finger at everyone else and demanding the industry be shut down, until it was discovered it was actually them who had been spreading the disease! lol

I am happy to report that Rocco has told the hungarian agents that he was
badly misquoted in the xbiz article, especially regarding the number of cases
etc. He was at a noisy sporting event with his family when the reporter rang
from USA...and anyway, the article smacks generally of sensationalism.
In Prague where, for a time, mainly couples and solos continued, several
performers have gone back to work. I am not at liberty to discuss their
testing procedures since they had a few cases of syphilis there. We in
Budapest are hopeful next week will proceed to plan with our new systems
as I have outlined on this site.
