.....and must I be reminded of the hosing down of shit covered geriatrics, awaiting "experimentation" or should I say, "Biopsies" in the operating theatre? Or the red line painted accross the floor outside the theatre, one side was deemed sterile and the other, infested. None of us common folk were permitted to cross the red line without being in full surgical costume, however, Toff consultant surgeons could trudge to and fro accross the line with muddy golf shoes as often as they pleased! Or the time on a Friday evening when a dosser was brought up with a condition that required emergency surgery and the dinner suited surgeon picked up the notes and glanced at them and dumped them on top of the dosser. The Toff had an important dinner engagement. The dosser just lay there and passed away a couple of hours later. This was a time when hospitals weren't war zones for Chavs and on a Friday night the operating theatres were empty, so it was just me and the dead dosser , all night!..........funny how certain things you never forget! It took me many years to not automatically loathe anyone with a hyphenated name, as had all the doctors and surgeons! "Dr Miles Porkinson-Bangor" for example (Made that one up!)
