Yes I live Up North as well thank god.

I don't intend to go within a hundred miles of London this August.

I feel sorry for the poor sods who have to live in London and are going to have to put up with this crap throughout the Summer.

Having served with an Air Defence Regiment I know gunners well, and all I can say is God help the poor residents having to put up with a bunch of gunners on their roof. Mind you, they're lucky they are getting Air Defence ones instead of Field Gunners, they are as thick as two short planks.
As far as the Olympics are concerned, I hardly watch them on the box let alone go to them. Londoners and the out of London areas like Poole where the sailing will take place have my sympathy also.
