Yes they definitely existed. The earliest short necked giraffe was the climacoceras about 8 million years ago.

But for its short neck ( it is after all a short necked giraffe) it certainly does look like said creature.

Yes, it's almost identical. Modern giraffes have a longer neck and also longer legs, but are otherwise virtually unchanged from the proto-giraffes that lived millions of years ago.

Go to Specsavers and get your eyes tested. It's nothing like a modern giraffe could be horselike, zebra or goat...
