Resoundingly and devastatingly demolished by a BBC Horizon programme in 1977, and quite rightly too. It was a delight to watch. Daniken is little short of a fraud, up there with David Ike and Uri Geller.

so you think were alone ? the infinity of space out there - must be something must be something indeed.

Once they find us we will be in a heap of trouble indeed !

Well they would say that, wouldn't they! Have you read any of Von Daniken's books?

I know that its easy to howl with laugther at the idea of Cadbury's Smash Men invading Earth and wreaking death and destruction on us all, but there are truly strange things that science simply does not satifactorally explain.

I was recently at the Human Body exhibition, where they have plasticised dessected corpses on display. When you look at the perfection of the mechanisms involved in human and animal life, the sheer complexity and simple efficiency of every organ in the body, you ask yourself this simple question. "Was Charles Darwin talkin 'outta his arse?" Well yes he was! Evolution is a bag 'o shite, the idea that we evolved from single celled organisms into the creatures that we are today is preposterous.

Where are all of natures mistakes on the way through this process? How could the eye be evolved if the original cells had no concept of sight? Do viruses or bacteria run around with eyes? No they don't, well apart from the ones in the Domestos ads. Viruses evolve in 6 months as much as we do in a thousand years! So since they are the oldest living creatures, by now viruses and bacteria, really would have their own TV stations like in the Domestos ads and in fact built space ships and colonised other planets! But alas no, they still just make us ill and of course perform all sorts f other useful tasks, but a the same a pathetic example of evolution if you ask me!

I believe that we were designed in a "laboratory" from the basic structure of all life forms, Nucleic acid and DNA. I believe the "Smash Men", if you like, ran a random DNA restructuring or redesigning programme, which in effect spat out millions of variations of life forms, whilst each retained the basic structure of Nucleic acid within and then the Smash Men seeded the Earth with these lifeforms.

I believe at some point, "Man" was extracted from this melee of life and given one extra ingredient, a sense of "self" or, "I think therefore I am." However our thoughts were limited to the point where our concept of space and time, would forever be handicapped or in effect disabled. So it could mean that the entire lifespan of living things on this Earth, may be to another species, no more than a 5 year experiment to study lifeforms and how they co exist and because our conceptual understanding of the Universe has been deliberately limited, we, for example, perceive our nearest star as being billions of light years away. When in fact, the Smash Men could simply reach out and touch the , "Nearest star" as it is just at the end of his lab in which our whole Earth is sat in an artificial "Universe" container, no bigger than a large cupboard and within it we are but microbes! Try sometime on a sunny day looking up at the sky and try to define, "Infinity" ie the never, ever, ever ending of space and see how your brain hits a brick wall and cannot move beyond this. You are not supposed to comprehend it!

And who must we blame?

They said what they said because Von Daniken's books are drivel, lacking any scholarship, properly conducted research or sense.

I recommend reading "The Blind Watchmaker" by Richard Dawkins, a book in which this question is comprehensively addressed and answered.

I'm sure there are whole libraries of books that appear to shoot everything I've written down in flames, but they have no more, "Proof" than I have. So even more reason to ask questions, it takes a much braver author to challenge the status quo than one whho continues to shore it up. I always think its wise to keep an open mind.
