Was the Jeremy Bamber thread political point scoring? I guess a lot of my posts are political,probably because i care about the state of the country. I piss a lot of people off too,so what? Thats life.

I'm sure we all care about the country, number 6, but this thread was about praising the quality of BBC programming, not their political stance.

I fully agree with David there have been some excellent programmmes on the BBC since the start of the year.
The Dickens programmes have been great as was Sherlock
I am surprised that no one has mentioned Borgen made by the same people who made the Killing and shown on BBC4 on Saturdays.
I expect that most of you will already know that the current real life Danish PM is Neil Kinnock's daughter in law.

As the person who started the thread, Number 6's post is perfectly valid. I don't agree with his viewpoint but in a post praising the BBC, it seems appropriate that someone should express that view, if they feel the need.
As for your question "why are all your posts about political point scoring?"
I would have thought that the answer was self-evident. Number 6 is interested in politics and cares enough about the abomination of the Lansley NHS bill and the Duncan Smith Welfare Bill, together with the increase in unemployment to comment on them.
As for your comment "I'm sure we all care about the country," it is worth pointing out there are those like yourself, Mr Slater, that fervently supported the Lib Dems prior to the election with copious posts to that effect, but have been completely and utterly unable to express a single line of criticism of that party for overturning so many of their principles in supporting the most ruthless, right wing Tory party seen in a generation.

It was by the bye. The quality of the BBCs programming is incidental to their current political stance. I rolled my eyes at it and questioned why he always brings politics into everything in an off-hand, casual manner to which you took as an attempted statement of fact....well, you didn't really take it that way but saw an opportunity to pull me up on something so your take of literalism was actually feigned. Agreed? Good. Let's move on...

And so we come to the real reason why you've involved yourself in a simple question I gave to number 6. Are you trying to imply that people who didn't vote Labour in the last election don't care about the country? You last paragraph seems to imply this. And as for being critical of the Lib Dems' backing down on many of their manifesto: I expected this in a coalition where they are the party where they aren't the dominant partner. If, at the next election I didn't like how things turned out I'll change my vote.
