The phones do look similar, but so do many Mercs and BMWs until you get closer. Apple make some brilliant products but have always been fascistic in nature. You're either part of the 'in' group, or you're scum.
And if you want to see how a company copies another then just look at the pull-down notifications in the latest iOS. Android has had pull-down notifications for over 2 years >

Well, Iv'e ad 'em all, but I currently use the Samsung GS11, and it;s a great piece of kit as far as I'm concerned, the camera is so good I have recently taken pictures of a higgs bosun, see my earlier post.

To decry a PHONE for not being able to zoom photos is a little like decrying a camera for poor phone reception!
Samsung Galaxy is uglier than an aye-aye... in my humble opinion, of course. Mind you, I don't buy a phone for it's looks... I buy it for it's ability to make phone calls, something which few people seem to take into consideration these days.

That's fine, if you prefer it and it does what you want t to, no-one can argue with that.
Being able to capture the god particle is definitely a one up for it.

I was actually comparing the BB to the iPhone (in a direct reply to Jim who had moved from BB to iPhone). I really couldn't care less about Android phones, and as for Gmail, no I don't have a Gmail account and never will... Given the number of spam messages I get from gmail accounts, I see every reason for that service (along with every other free service like hotmail etc) to be terminated and every user of those services shot!
As for touch screens, I last used some yesterday (an iPad2, a Samsung Galaxy something or other and the BB tablet, whatever that's called)... they are the work of the devil, and not for me. I don't like them, and I can't ever see me liking them until they can replicate the feel of a proper keyboard.
I'm not a Ludite in any way, I just don't happen to like touch screens and I especially don't like the idea that one object can be a phone, a computer a camera, a music player etc... there's more than a hint of truth in the old saying jack of all trades; master of none.
If I want to carry a small camera for snaps, then the Canon PowerShot S100 does me. If I want to listen to music I have my iPod. If I want to make a phone call I have my BB. And if I want to read my email, I'll do so on either my MacBook if travelling or my iMac if at home.
I know countless people (mostly girls who are either dancers and/or models) who when they lose their phone are completely lost. Apart from no longer being able to contact them by phone, you can't contact them by email either (oh, I don't have a computer, I use my phone for email), and they are distraught at not only losing all their contacts, but their music, their memories... everything! Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket.
If you think using separate tools for doing separate tasks is a little old fashioned, then I'm happy to be old fashioned... I'll know never to ask you to tighten a screw as you'd probably use a hammer!
