I wonder if our New Labour fans would be so ready to give the "benefit of the doubt" to Blair and Mandy, if Saif and his clan had been instead having meetings with 2 Tory politicians in the past?
I suspect their "sagely, sober and balanced" overviews suggesting that any allegation against Blair and Mandelson from Saif, must be all lies, would be more like:
"THIEVING, CHEATING TORIES EXPOSED BY SCRUPULOUSLY HONEST LIBYAN WISTLEBLOWER SAIF GADAFFI! SAIF, POSSIBLY THE ONLY HONEST MEMBER OF THE GADDAFI FAMILY, HAS COME FORWARD TO REVEAL HOW HE WAS CRUELLY TRICKED INTO EXPEDITING DODGY FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS WITH THESE NO GOOD TORIES. NEW LABOUR EXPERTS HAVE INSISTED THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT SAIF HAS A PROPENSITY FOR LYING AND IT IS OBVIOUS THE TORIES ARE GUILY AND SHOULD BE EXTRADITED TO LIBYA TO BE HANGED IMMEDIATELY! HANG! HANG! HANG! !wink!

I do not understand what all you guys are rattling on about.....common
sense and his own track record tells us that getting Saif Gaddafi to
tell the truth on past events is about as likely as my loaf of bread giving
me verbal directions to the supermarket ! Saif, if brought to the Hague,
will say whatever suits him to save his miserable skin.

I'd be tempted to believe any files from the Libyan government before anything Saif says. Mind you, even the files could be dodgy. Look at the Iraqi ones which detailed payments to Gorgeous George Galloway, they were forgeries weren't they George? He never took a single dinar from that man, Mr Hussein.

No-one is giving Blair and Mandleson the benefit of the doubt in this thread. Pointing out, as Frank does, that Saif Gaddafi is not an entirely reliable source of info, yes.
But if you want to put up an argument that no-one is making and then question it, I don't think anyone on here would object.

I think that the new govt of Lybia should tell the worlds press that they will give this little shit a fair trial and then shoot him.
