I think most of labours vote at the last election went to the Lib dems. The lib dem vote will collapse at the next election after going back on their pledges and assisting the tories to fuck the economy. Labour should gain most of those votes at the next election.

The "Pendulum of Doom"
New Labour squanders evey penny the country has and when that runs out squanders all the gold reserves as well at a knock down price whilst at the same time tries to build a Police State.
The Tories, cut, cut, cut and pathetically try to get back some of the ?Trillions wasted by New Labour and also keep the dictatorial measures from New Labour, just in case they might be of use one day.
Which ever way the pendulum swings the rich get richer and the working man gets screwed. Meanwhile ALL our politicians, Left and Right line their pockets. How any sane person can beat the drum for either party, whilst we stand in the rubble of our country, escapes me.
This pantomine has gone on for 30 years. Terry Thomas would have called the whole lot of them, "An absolute shower!" and he'd be right!

Sorry david but I think you miss my point slightly... I am not knocking the country of my birth I am just saying that as someone who lives and works in another country I think the UK's problem is that they poke their nose into everywhere they can yet always fail to sort their own problems out out!! Its a country with a reputation of people getting money for nothing and having such a large welfare system that no other country would consider even trying to match... Switzerland is by no means perfect but I like it... and i pay only 10% income tax... I ski each weekend in the winter... mountain bike through meadows and in the shadow of the Alps in the summer.
I also note the NYPD and the Zurich (Swiss federal) Police have gone in, heavy handed some say, and booted out the tents and people ... in London what do they do..... F&%k all... typical.

"Sorry david but I think you miss my point slightly...I am not knocking the country of my birth "
Then all I can say is that you don't read your own posts - "The UK is a public sector country led country and Labour after 13 years in power have transformed it into "what will the state give me"
Not a particularly favourable post, I think you would agree. And again here you come out with a collection of your usual incorrect cliches e.g.
"Its a country with a reputation of people getting money for nothing and having such a large welfare system that no other country would consider even trying to match... "
In the UK 18 to 24 year olds get ?53 a week to live on. Above 24 and its about ?65 a week. If you have savings over something like ?14K your benefits run out after 6 months and then that is it, nothing. Most of the hundreds of thousands of people in the UK who have lost their jobs in the last few years would bite your hand off if you offered them 70% of their wage per week as you get in Switzerland.
"I also note the NYPD and the Zurich (Swiss federal) Police have gone in, heavy handed some say, and booted out the tents and people ... in London what do they do..... F&%k all... typical."
Yep, having spent 6 months working in Basel I can confirm that the attitude of the police above doesn't surprise me. Switzerland and its people appear the most anal retentive in the world. I imagine that the police cleared the tents because people just couldn't bear the mess with things not being in their rightful place.
I always got the impression that what the first thing Swiss people did in the morning was stick an enema up their arse.
Seems to suit you very well though.....
Cheers

Hey David ... you never commented on my 10% income tax... Do I pay that rate because the Swiss manage their affairs better than the UK??? and don't waste the income as Labour did for 13 years... I also have to pay a canton tax which works out at 7% so in fairness I am paying 17% on an income that would put me in the 40/50% band in the UK... The streets are clean and safe, trains run on time, the police are strict but fair....and the people in general keep themselves to themselves.....
Also I can to nip back to the UK and use the NHS, if required, as I am still a UK subject I just choose to live here...

Yes well no-one could accuse you of not being driven by smugness and self-satisfaction. I can imagine your relations in the UK being bored shitless by you droning on about the 10% tax rate.
From my recall, you will fit in well in Switzerland.
Like I said some people are well suited to an anally retentive nation full of people who go apeship if you use the wrong colour rubbish bag.
I can see why the UK drives you barmy. Too much diversity, too much culture, litter etc.
You are clearly living in the right country for you.
Cheers
