You're suggesting he was openly gay at one point in his life and then reinvented himself as a heterosexual ? I seem to remember a news item from years back, before he was prominent, about him going out with/being seen socially with the singer Natalie Imbruglia. Presumably this was a PR exercise to anchor our perception of him as heterosexual ?

Only a matter of time, I guess

So Cameron says Fox has his full support in the morning and then in the afternoon his office relay that "serious mistakes have been made".

Looks like Fox is not going to survive this.

The whole thing stinks. Werrity is a health consultant when Fox becomes health spokesman for the Tories. He's a defence consultant when Fox becomes Defence Secretary.

According to the interim report, in 18 months Fox had met Werritty 22 times in the main MoD building and accompanied him or met him on 18 of his 48 visits abroad, including ministerial conferences and family holidays.

Venues where they met include Bahrain, Washington, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and Tampa in Florida for a Centcom meeting with General John R Allen, the commander-designate of the Isaf mission in Afghanistan. Werritty was also present socially during a four-day meeting in Washington in August when Fox met officials at the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill.

Now why on earth would Werrity move from being a health consultant to defence consultant if it had not been to take advantage monetarily, either directly or indirectly, from his relationship with Fox?

Got to go I would have thought.

Cheers

Lovely cartoon in the Times yesterday - can't find it online - basically Werrity is looking at a new business card and wondering if there is such a thing as a "back-bench consultant".

Here is Dr Fox in a rather convincing panda outfit standing atop of a large Fox's Glacier Mint for a publicity stunt!

This is taking the piss now

Now maybe my deep-rooted hatred for the Tories is shining through here but I think the Liam Fox saga is really taking the piss now.

So Liam Fox setups up a "charity" called the Atlantic Bridge which he employs his mate, Werrity to run. The Atlantic Bridge gets closed down by the Charity COmmission on the grounds that it is a political group masquerading as a charity. The Atlantic Bridge also had the likes of Unemployment Secretary, Chris Grayling involved.

Werrity then gets funded by a bunch of wealthy donors as a special advisor to Fox and they paid Mr Werritty an annual retainer because they saw him as someone who, unlike civil servants, could be relied on to champion support for Eurosceptic, pro-American and pro-Israeli policies.

This guy who is completely unvetted from a security point of view then swans around the Ministry of Defence, getting details of Fox's diary and travels the world with Fox attending a third of the overseas trips Fox makes, masquerading as an offical government advisor even to the point of handing out business cards to that effect. And all of this happens completely under the radar and there are often no records of what was discussed at these meetings. And off the back of the fact that Werrity is an "official advisor" to Dr Fox, Werrity gets involved with other clients, attending meetings/conferences etc.

And the fucker is still Defence Secretary?
