If this creates jobs and stop Blackpool being the armpit of the North then all is good. My idea of living hell is a living in Blackpool, once a great family resort, now heading to be Morecambe part two.

According to the Office of National Statistics, visitors to Blackpool in 2010 were up to 13 million from 10 million in 2007. Spent a ?1 billion. And overnight stays increased as well.

The top of the Tower has been revamped and the wire mesh that used to be there as part of the vertical sides, replaced. The 4D film referenced below is spiffing.

That's a shame. I was gonna go up there and throw one of my stale sandwiches off the top !cool!

Going a little 'off topic', I was saddened to hear of the TVR factory closure a few years back.

Yes it was a real pity. It ended up being taken over by a Russian "entrepreneur" at some point who proceeded to do close to bugger all with it.

TVR owners seem to be a very loyal lot. They come to Blackpool for a "pilgrimage" every year and hold various events on the prom.

As far as I am concerned they can get on their energy efficient bicycles and bugger off, maybe to Winchester, Eton, Windsor or Maidenhead, for example.
