My comments were more a general remark about why Britain will never be Switzerland.

However, I think David Miliband is wrong about his implication that the British people want to get involved in wars all over the place.

Miliband is an apologist for an illegal war in Iraq. Ed Miliband has already stated that he thought Blair was wrong about the Iraq war.

This war had massive public opposition at the time and if you asked the public whether involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan had been a good idea, my guess is that the vote would be against.

Moreover, there have been so many cuts in defence spending that in itself puts a limit on foreign adventures.

One of the best films ever made, in my humble opinion.

In fact, the cuckoo clock was first made in Germany - but why let facts get in the way of a good line !happy!

I see you are already being mocked and ridiculed by our resident New Labour apologists for mass murder, for posing such an outlandish idea. The idea that like Switzerland, we too would not wage shameful wars on people weaker than ourselves!

How dare you Von Boy!

I'm afraid that this idea does not fall into the remit of any government of either party. It does prove however, that our Ed, is still carrying the flaming blood stained torch of warmongering and wholesale murder handed to him by Tony "Call me God" Blair.

Your thread posed a perfectly reasonable question, that any sane minded reasonable person would consider, ie, "Why not court peace and not war, like Switzerland?"

The idea of being a peaceful country certainly should not be urinated on by our resident, bloodthirsty, New Labour contingent. I wonder how ready they would be to scream, "Kill! Kill! Kill!!" if they themselves were about to be shipped out to fight in the front line!

So easy to celebrate war from a sofa. So easy to send other peoples' children to die.
