Oh by the way, just to get things in perspective. In this country if you riot and loot you will, maybe get a ?100 fine. If you are a company that pollutes a river maybe you'll get a ?5000 fine. However if you broadcast during an encrypted programme a tiny, less than half a second bit of sexual penetration. Let's call it 2 or 3 frames, that's about an eight of a second, You could get a ?25,000 fine!

Welcome to the crazy UK criminal justice system!

"In this country if you riot and loot you will, maybe get a ?100 fine."

This is total bollocks.

If you paid any attention at all to the news re. what is going on in the magistrates courts you will note that many, if not the majority of cases are being passed onto the crown court because magistrates courts are limited to prison sentences of 6 months.

Cheers

Why is the term 'Feds' being used all of a sudden? An inappropriate American term that has nothing to do with the regional police set-up in this country.

Copy cat rioting goes with copy cat language.

The guy who got shot seemed to believe he was living in the middle of an episode of the Wire, when he texted to mates from the cab that he was being "followed by the feds".

And so it goes. Now it seems everywhere.

Well, let's wait and see shall we David. One rioter was sent home after today, he was asked whether he felt "Ashamed" to which he answered, "Yes" and the judge said, "Well let that be a lesson to you, now go home!" lol

(David, if you don't mind perhaps you'd afford others on this forum a little common coutesy when replying to them. There really is no need to alter the thread title with an insult or jibe or bring the picket line thug to these hallowed forums! Maybe ditch your flat cap, donkey jacket and Arthur Scargill tone, things have moved on a little in case you haven't noticed!Even your beloved Lord Precott has curbed his language now he's a peer)

We DO try to be civilised on this forum!

As far as I can fathom there were no arrests and not much resisting arrest. These were coppers beating up civilians, which I find appalling. If they've done something wrong, arrest them. If they haven't, send them on their way.

You are totally wrong, old bean

"Total bollocks" is quite nondescript compared to the things I have been called by others, even by yourself, "old timer".

You are so touchy aren't you Jimbo? You have no problem whatsoever dishing it out to all and sundry when they disagree with you, but when I say to you, you're talking bollocks, which you patently are, it's "We do try to be civilised on this forum"

Bless, you are a one!

At least put your own slant on it, David! That's straight out of the Guardian. !wink!

"You are so touchy?" funnily enough this is what the Commie torturers, a few doors up from my house in Budapest, would say to their victims after they had beaten them to a pulp and they were left sobbing in the corner of a urine and faece covered cell floor. Under the thin exterior of the BGAFD's "reasonable and cuddly", Voice of New Labour, lies the patronising Commissar Johnson, ever ready to mock, insult and pour scorn on all those that oppose you. Finger ever poised over the phone ready to report dissenters ( people that do not support New Labour or The Tories) to the authorities as potential, "Anarchists", your words not mine.

I'm afraid you'll have to find another hapless forumite to attack and insult, David, as I've got better things to do and can't be arsed with your attacks. As the Big Cheese that you've painted youself as, with the 'having worked at more multinationals than you can shake a stick at,' I'm surprised you haven't got more pressing things to do as well!
