David - let us pass over Ms Brooks for a moment while rejoicing on her
demise (albeit for the time being) and think of what is going to happen
if the F.B.I. find any truth in the rumour that Murdoch`s Brit scum
journalists hacked into the phones of 911 victims. Yesterday he lost ?1bn
when the news broke. But since Murdoch had to become a US citizen to
develop his media empire there including the Fox News channel, he will
be above his head in the proverbial shit if the F.B.I. find evidence !!!
Prison is not beyond the bounds of possibility.......
I keep on thinking over all the NOTW business of Longfellow`s famous
poem "The Singedichte of Fredrich von Logau" - that runs:
"The mills of God grind slowly,
But they grind exceeding small.
Though with patience he stands waiting,
With exactness grinds he all !"

There is a definite air of panic about Murdoch.

They pay numerous complainants ?100,000s to shut them up. That doesn't close the story down.

He throws Coulson to the dogs by releasing emails re. his alleged authorisation of police payments. That doesn't work to close the story down.

He shuts down his most profitable paper in the UK. That doesn't work.

He withdraws the BSkyB deal. That doesn't work.

Rebekah Brooks resigns. That doesn't work.

He rushes to organise a meeting with the Dowlers immediately after Brooks resigns. Will that work?

As you say with the FBI investigation in the States, if they find evidence of phone hacking re. 9/11, for Murdoch, the grinding down has only just begun!!
