I must contradict you Jim. The Americans are leaving Afghanistan
because a) the US President is a cold strategist and is bright enough
to realise he is in a no-win situation in that country b) the war is
deeply unpopular - as it should be- in the USA where ordinary folk can
demonise Bin Laden as a classic bad guy, but cannot understand why
they are stuck in a war far away from home and with no clear achievable
objectives. Under this President the USA will not involve itself much (ie
Libya) unless its a win win situation, and Ad-dinnerjacket in Iran, if he
is next on the list, can be left to the Israelis. c) Obama has his sights on
the next US Election - bring the boys home (after gunning Bin Liner) and
he`s clearly in for a 2nd term.

The world's bogeyman for the last few weeks, although not for the first time, has been Gaddafi. It does trouble me how so much of what we know about people has been spun by the media machine that many of the western leaders themselves have a hand in influencing. Joint bogeyman no.1 for ages (along with Bin Laden) was Saddam. It's worth remembering that George W Bush was a bigger tosser than any of them: he killed more innocent people than Bin Laden did.

You're missing my point, the USA couldn't exit Afghanistan whilst, Bogeyman Bin Laden was still roaming the mountains unchecked "wreaking havoc on the free World!" The American public would have seen the whole Afghan adventure as a failure, which of course it is.

So, the spooks had to dig up Bin Laden's corpse, tie it to a tree, machine gun it and then drop it in the sea and declare, "Bin Laden's dead, mission accomplished, we can leave Afghanistan a LIBERATED COUNTRY and go on to our next mission! Mr President, SIR!"

I used it to illustrate the meetings between ourselves (The simple purveyors of pornographic filth) and some new fat-cat run authority that is having amicable meetings with us before crushing us! lol

So let's get this right then Jimbo.

You think:

1. American spooks caused the explosions in the World Trade Centre. Presumbably they did that so they would have an excuse to invade Afghanistan that oil rich, mineral rich, hugely advanced country in Asia.

2. Having entered Aghanistan for no apparent reason/benefit whatsoever because the Americans themselves engineered the Twin Tower collapse, the Americans had to invent an excuse to leave.

3. That excuse to leave was the death of Bin Laden, which of course never happened as Obama told it, because Bin Laden had either died years previously or never existed in the first place.

Okay, that's clear. Makes sense to me!

That is your right David, to believe and express your beliefs. As long as you remember it is also my and millions of others right to also have our set of beliefs and views without fear of insult, mockery or verbal abuse!

You need to distinguish between the lightest touch of irony "makes sense to me" and you being in "fear of insult and verbal abuse". There is a difference.

If you had any sense of irony whatsoever Jimbo, you would be too ashamed, considering the vast majority of your own posts to come out with a self confessed "fear of insult and verbal abuse", given that 95% of your political posts are insulting and verbally abusive.

What would be useful to all forumites if you could read my post again about your views on the subject of the Twin Towers, Bin Laden and the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and explain the logic of your thoughts.
