It doesn't really make sense, not inviting Blair and Brown but inviting Thatcher, who was loathed by everyone. Maybe its because she's been elevated to "Elder-stateswoman" so she's let off. Maybe its because Blair & Brown have presided over wars that have resulted in the deaths of some of the Princes' friends. Or maybe it is after all, just Royal protocol.

"what a load of total horse - shit!!
Blair and Brown are former PM's who are not in public favour and have no place there!"
This strikes me as complete nonsense. The royal family is supposed to be above politics. Irrespective of whether you or the royal family are in favour or not of Blair and Brown's politics, the Labour government won three elections in a row including landslide victories.
If the monarchy is to represent unity, above politics, in the country, then it makes absolutely no sense to invite Thatcher, Major, Douglas Hurd and a a whole host of dodgy leaders and ambassadors from around the world without inviting Blair and Brown.
A big mistake in my book.
Cheers
