Steve56 - It certainly sounds like an April 1st gag, but the date at the top of the article is 1-8- 2010. I got this link from Wikipedia where I looked him up just to make sure he hadn't croaked before I posted.

"The only reason he came back was that he had a number of strokes and fancied some free treatment on the NHS.
He returned on 7 May 2001, and was re-imprisoned for his crimes.
His trip back on a private jet was paid by The Sun, which had also reportedly paid Michael Biggs ?20,000, plus other expenses"
Since Biggs release from prison he has been living in a nursing home in Barnet (North London).
I've also read that it's the taxpayer who is picking up the bill for his nusing home. Not his son Michael.
Having had to put my father in a nursing home recently I know the cost is going be between ?900 - ?1,200 a week.
Difference is my Dad had to sell his home to fund his nursing home fees. That's after working and paying his taxes for forty five years.
The question I have is "if the Scum thought it was such a good idea to bring him back to the UK, why aren't they picking-up the nursing home bills?".
They should have left the c*nt in Brazil. Let's see how he would have got on there when he was old and sick.

"The only reason he came back was that he had a number of strokes and fancied some free treatment on the NHS".
I think you have completely mis-understood the situation there.
The Scum said the reason Biggs wanted to return to England was beacuse he missed "a good old fashioned pint of good old English beer in a nice old country pub". or some other old "Sun-speak" crap.

Given Biggs was released over 2 years ago on compassionate grounds because he was on the brink of dying, he is doing pretty well to be out and about this month marketing his updated biography.
Cheers

A recovery not unlike that of Ernest Saunders.
