Personally, if we find lots of ex-pornstars, who've done 100s of films, coming out criticising the industry, maybe we should actually take their views on board rather than dismissing them. After all, they are in the best position to judge.
Like it or not the industry has some very seedy, untrustworthy characters in it. All industries do I suppose so it may be unfair to pick out one industry. However, it's an industry that deals with a larger proportion of young, naive, sometimes vulnerable, or emotionally damaged young women than other industries.
The girl in question might be talking out of her arse for all I know, but I think it's healthy to not so readily dismiss the judgement of ex performers who've been there, done it and worn the t-shirt, so to speak.

We all grow up at a different rate, ravis. You're an adult at 18 but are there things you might have done then that you'd be horrified to do now (assuming you're not 19 now!).
Also, some girls might feel it's the only job they can do to make a living. If they have a drug problem they'll definitely need the cash no matter how much they hate it. Maybe doing porn meant their friends and family have ostracised them (or they get that perception) and others within the industry are their only means of companionship or support?
So yes, I can easily see how a young girl might do 400 scenes before having the courage to give it up and try and do something else in life.
Who would you trust for an unbiased view on the industry? Current performers and producers, who have a real, current, financial interest in it? Someone who's never been within a thousand yards of a porn scene and knows no one that ever has, or someone that has had the experience but is now out of it and not dependent on the income it provides any more?

If she really is hoping to get a book published based on her, "Awful" experiences then it will sell about...........5? copies LOL
No one wants to read about the shit times, they want to read about the erotic, decadent, the parties, the fun. They want read, "I know I shouldn't have, but wow what a great time I had!"
She's playing to the Jeremy Kyle "Fat chav" jury, problem is, they've got alot to say.........but they don't buy books!

Taking a general view any work done at any level in the UK porn industry is a personal choice, nobody is forced into it. However once the choice is made certain things have to be accepted like the terms milf, slut etc.
Also reasonable after a while to move on but already posted inevitable family & friends will find out even years later.
Fine for someone to say they did not enjoy a job and was glad to move on but, unless illegal, mistreaded, forced work etc out of order to condemn either a company or the industry in general.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions about children's exposure but ridiculous to suddenly say milf is unacceptable.
Personally if I had children I would rather they watched some porn showing people having fun than violence or even some of the themes on soap's.
In this case Kaz yes right to be cynical and seems a publicity stunt.

I feel an apology is owed to those who are genuinely of a religious faith. But where Shelly Lubben is concerned, i cant help but feel she traded the porn gig for a religious one out of cold calculation.
How do you appear on stage then sum up those huge crocodile tears everytime you think about the porn industry and how it has destroyed the last remnants of humanity you had left in you?
That tactic so reminds me of Jimmy swaggart and he used to bang on about and lie onthe good book protesting his innocence that he never slept with "the serpents of satan" (thats escorts to us)
Thing is, those who know nothing about this take her words as gospel and why shouldnt they? She is a woman who has saved herself from the brink and people love a success story that fills them with hope.
I remain unconvinced by Shelly Lubbens testimony but wont dismiss that some people may have made a mistake and sincereyl want to atone for their past, whatever that actually means. To me, if you just dont like it, then simply stop doing it and stay away from it but she bangs on about god having a mission for her to go back and save those other souls lost in porn.
Maybe here in Britain I might be missing something but everyone I know who has been there seems to think it is way better there in the US than being here in the UK

Re: religion in the US = Hypocrites
Their track record as being morally superior hardly stacks up for them to be preaching about the evils of porn
Clean up their own backyard before they start casting stones
As for Rayveness typical Yank milking some publicity because she cares
BULLSHIT.......funny how book launches always come with something controversial to say...YAWN
She'd be far more believable if she wasnt pushing something else at the same time. Not that anything shes saying isnt already known about Business in general and thats a lot wider spread than just porn
The cliche that you dont do business with friends kind of bares that out
I see Softcore Model Erica Campbell did the religious thing awhile back
No doubt egged on by that thoroughly self righteous corporation called the Church...stuff like the crap written below sounds like something I'd hear coming from a Muslim not a Christian..if only they could see the irony of it all
"The next and last person that will see and enjoy my body will be a husband AS GOD INTENDED! I have asked for forgiveness for what I have done AND HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN! I will spend the rest of my life doing the Lords will and the Lords work. I AM HIS!"
