I did my RN cooks training at St Omer Barracks Aldershot. While there we use to say to the army cooks that around 90% of the British army was intelligent the other 10% are cooks!

Fucking good food in that place though and always a smile and a laugh.

Off at a tangent, but the only line I can remember from Corrie, is Percy Sugden defending his war record as a cook.

And you get a spiffy looking medal for being able to tie your own shoelaces in the yank army too. But the tin-pot African dictatorships still have the best looking uniforms.
