Local Conservatives delivered a leaflet ' Wishing you a Happy New Year ' yet
they have put VAT up 2.5% to highest ever rate
another increase in fuel duty
TV licence now ?145 yet ever more crap programs
local services are being cut
proposals to increase charges to the elderly for homecare services
they are doing nothing to increase manufacturing / employment prospects so cutting our dependency on imports
not to mention the cost of the leaflets that surely could have been better used.
How far removed from public feelings are they?

"they have put VAT up 2.5% to highest ever rate "
The increase in VAT is actually 14.3%!!
Where is Osborne? On an ?11K skiing holiday.
Today they have admitted that they can do nothing about the upcoming excessive bankers bonuses. Does anyone remember the Tory election slogan of 1989 "Who Governs Britain?"? - Now we know.

Sad to say but the likes of Branson, Philip Green etc have far more clout than any politician. I remember a photo of Bill Clinton and Bill Gates in a Golf Cart years ago with the caption "the most powerful man in the world and his driver......" Clinton was at the wheel.
