In the brilliant 1970's film, "Three Days of the Condor", the CIA have a covert plot to "Invade and occupy the Middle east" and I remember the lines in the film of one of the CIA spooks as being something like:

"What's are the American people gonna say when the Arabs hold back the oil from them, and their cars wont run and we have to cut the power to their houses and hospitals, I'll tell you what they'll say, "Get us the fucking oil and we don't care how you get it, just get it!"

How prophetic, when you think about 9/11 and the subsequent occupation of the Middle East with a huge standing army.

Isn't Iraq and Afghanistan more about sending a message to the Arabs, "Don't fuck with us!" than anything to do with freedom?

Perhaps if the government could come to some arrangement with these 'militant groups' I don't know say perhaps fill a large building with chavs and other oxygen thieves, hello magazine readers for instance and then grant the militant groups 10 minutes of free for all before ' we're coming in to get you' then everyone's a winner!

On a serious note however, I have always felt that muslims in the west will never go along with the western way of doing things as their 'good book' tells them to feel allegiance to other muslims around the world and not to feel close association to the place they are in - if that place has a differnt way of doing things. Quite why, then, they choose to move to such places is beyond me.

Jim, a mate of mine worked for London Transport for years in an executive tie-wearing capacity. He's moved on now, but was still there on 7/7.

He told me that such exercises (so beloved of the "isn't it funny how" conspiracy crowd) are actually held quite frequently, they just don't make the news (and why would they?).

It was only because one of them was being held on the actual day it happened that we got to hear about it, and the X-Files brigade make such a big deal over it.

Of course my mate could be "in on it" as well. I'll see him at the weekend so I'll have to ply him with booze and ask him, LOL. So if I suddenly vanish you know what's occurred: He's told me so he's had to kill me. But somehow I feel quite safe.

But in all honestly Jim, the "don't believe everything you read" caveat applies both ways. In other words conspiracy web sites and the like can be just as full of bullshit as any government spokesman or the Daily Mail. Because they have "agendas" too.

In fairness though Max, of the tens of millions of muslims in the world its really only a small percentage that are mad comparitively speaking although unfortunately that does still amounts to hundreds of thousands but thats religion for you.

However this is true of any religion, christianity included, America's full of mad christians. There will always be those who twist their chosen belief to something that justifies their own insecrurities and desire of violence for their own purpose.

I totally agree with you that the argument cuts both ways. Did you know that Dick Cheney had organised a parrallel excercise concerning hijacked aircraft on the day of 9/11? Presumably this is complete coincidence as well. The hysterical conspiracy theorists allege, that the spooks do this to mask the actual attack so as the authorities do not know whether the attack is part of the "excercise" or an "Attack" and do not respond effectively.

But of course they are all mad!!nuts!

But, all the same, ask yourself who actually has gained out of 9/11? We have in the West, why? because we are now within easy striking distance of all the oil fields should the Arab world become, "Difficult". Israel is under our protection and Iran and it's oil are within easy striking distance.

I believe 7/7 was a false flag operation to just make sure there was no flagging in the British publics' "Fear" of terrorists and also to ensure the continuing occupation of the Middle East. I believe the patsys were part of this excercise, hence buying parking tickets and returns on the train, except unknown to them, they actually had REAL bombs in their rucksacks, hence reports that the "Bus bomber" was struggling to get his rucksack off. Personally I think these operations go far above idiot Blair and clown Bush's jurisdiction.

9/11 was pure Hollywood. Muslim terrorists are rubbish at "Terror", the best they can ever do is get some poor sod to strap some explosives on and blow himself up. Hijack and fly commercial airliners into skyscrapers? utter tosh!
