After my post above about some funny actors and films here are a few more of them.
Some Like it Hot (already mentioned). Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Marilyn Monroe. Lemmon and Curtis dress up as "girls" and join a girl jazz band to escape from the mob, but then Curtis falls for Monroe (the bands lead singer), and Lemmon gets engaged to a male millionaire in Florida.
Often voted funniest film of all time.
Jack Lemmon was a fine comedy actor who appeared in The Odd Couple and Some like it Hot (already mentioned) as well as The Apartment, Avanti, The Front Page, Mister Roberts and others which are well worth a look.
A really old film from 1934 (very funny) is It Happened one night with Clark Gable. Directed by Frank Capra, a wonderful director. So good it won 5 oscars. Bit dated but still stands up well.
"Whats up doc" is also very funny. With Barbra Striesand and Ryan O'Neal. Made as a tribute to the old silent movies it is a mixture of screwball comedy and farce, and has one of the funiest chases ever put on film.
That's enough for list two.
