Well let's just say the Judge certainly wasn't an Everton Fan ... self defence your honour he was going to cement me so I hit him with three uppercuts before he could blink.

If his name was Gerard Stevens from Toxteth he'd have been done for affray and assault and would have been found guilty.

Celebrity and money are what matters in the UKI. Always has been, always will be. Footballers and other prerformers with money really have to go way beyond the pale before the get the treatment in court doled out to anyone else.

Probably considerably less than he paid for his legal defence.

Let's see: Gerrard's mate chins a bloke (we saw in on the CCTV), Gerrard then thumps him three times because he thought the bloke who had just been attacked was going to attack him. Hmm. Clearly self-defence.

I think this proves that the captain of Liverpool FC will never be found guilty of anything in Merseyside. Good thing he stayed at LFC instead of going to Chelsea a few years back, a London jury would have sent him down. This trial was a joke in a one horse town, so the verdict was no surprise, it was as likely as a jury in Newcastle finding Alan Shearer guilty of being a boring, fence painting twat.
