Re: Strip pubs in SE London
I dont think there are that many strip-pubs left outside London, and precious few here; the relentless march of the lap/table dancing joints and the objections of local councils largely to blame. It used to be quite common for a town or city to have several pubs with strippers on; I can think of two in Bradford and a few in Leeds, all gone. The Yahoo group I mentioned has resources that might be useful, and a posting on there might elicit more info.

"If not maybe a list of pubs known by BGAFD members can be compiled and posted somewhere?"
The Yahoo group already mentioned , although a London group, did feature a complete UK list.
Not sure if the person who did the list has updated it recently or not.

Blimey, the Flying Scotsman still open. I had many a night in there in the 80s when I was working in London. Had an extraordinary mix of characters there and that included the strippers.
I would have thought it would have been converted into a soulless wine bar by now or some office space that no-one wants.
Quick get it listed, its a national treasure! Maybe bought by the National Trust and run as a strip pub. I can just see the write-ups in the quarterly mag. lol.

With all the money being spent on regeneration in the area, at least until the crash came along, I doubt if a strip-pub figures highly in the plans. Rough as the place is, experience it now whilst it lasts.
I've not been for a long time. The rather heavy guys who stood at the back and didn't want anyone to obstruct their view, consequently making the average punter cram in tightly to the sides of the room, rather put me off the place.

The William iv.
Stopped using strippers about 15/20 years ago!
What about that boozer round the back of Vauxhall?
